Signage & Advertising

Signage is not one kind of printing. The same shop prints 3 mm acrylic and aluminium composite for an illuminated sign one day and a 40 m² building banner the next. When the material goes from rigid to roll, the machine changes with it: a UV flatbed takes the sheet straight onto the bed, while an eco-solvent roll printer handles banner and vinyl. Treating the two as interchangeable is the most expensive planning mistake a sign shop makes.

The second deciding factor is durability. For anything that stays outdoors, ink, material and lamination are chosen together. UV ink resists scuffing on a rigid face but cracks on deeply formed vinyl; eco-solvent sits well on vinyl but starts to fade after its first summer if left unlaminated. Our approach is to talk about the work before the machine: how many square metres of which material per month, and how many years the job has to survive.

If a material on this list is new to you, ask for a sample print: adhesion and outdoor life depend on how the ink and the surface behave together, not on the ink alone. Request a Sample

Frequently Asked Questions

Which machine should a sign shop buy first?

Look at your mix. If more than half your monthly square metres are banner, vinyl and poster, the eco-solvent roll printer comes first; if rigid sheet dominates, the UV flatbed does. You do not have to buy both at once — subcontracting the other half until volume justifies it is cheaper than financing a machine that runs half empty.

How long does UV printing on acrylic and aluminium composite last?

The reference we publish on the ink side is 24 months of unlaminated vertical exposure in a central European climate. Annual UV dose on the southern Turkish coast is higher than that reference, and life shortens markedly on horizontal or upward-facing installations. Where long life is expected, a laminate or varnish layer is part of the job, not an option.

How do you handle cutting and shaping?

At low volume a guillotine and a knife will do. Once you need edge quality and repeatability on foam board, foam PVC and aluminium composite, there is a digital cutting table at the end of the process. The MK-1612 reads the registration marks in the printed sheet, contour cuts, creases and routes thin composite — and taking cutting off the printer frees the printer as well.
