01 — OVERVIEW
The MH-3200 R12 prints 3.2 m roll media and rigid sheets up to 30 mm on one industrial chassis. A Ricoh Gen6 array configurable from 2 to 20 heads delivers 92–111 m²/h at four passes; at eight passes it holds 41–49 m²/h and banding disappears entirely. Five-litre bulk supply per channel ends mid-shift ink changes on long building-wrap runs. The heavy-duty roll set carries reels up to two tonnes. A 15 kW, 70 A three-phase feed is mandatory.
Roll gear and the rigid sheet conveyor run on the same chassis. Moving from facade mesh to a 30 mm composite panel does not need a second machine, a second operator or a second set of colour profiles.
Water-cooled 395 nm lamps sit on both sides of the carriage, so the cure dose is identical in each direction. Unlike air-cooled lamps, temperature holds steady across a full shift — on a line running around the clock that is the single variable that decides LED service life.
Unwind and rewind motors take feedback from a tension sensor, holding constant pull as a two-tonne reel loses diameter. Across 3.2 metres, edge waviness is the most common cause of head strikes.
White ink circulates through the channel even when the machine is idle. Five litre tanks settle far faster than small bottles, which makes circulation an operating condition on this machine rather than an option.
Media height is measured automatically between 0 and 30 mm and the head gap is set from it. An anti-collision sensor halts the carriage on contact.

03 — INSTALLATION
We publish this before the sale. A machine that will not fit through the door, or a supply that cannot carry it, is the most expensive surprise there is.
04 — QUESTIONS
Shops producing more than 100 m² of wide format a day — building wraps, mesh, tensioned banner and large panel work. Below that the machine idles through most of a shift, and the 1.8 m MH-1800 U4 lowers both the investment and the cost per square metre.
Head count. The low end is a two-head machine, the high end twenty, and the curve between them is not linear. Konica KM1024i heads take four-pass output to 116–141 m²/h, but at eight passes both head families converge on 41–49 m²/h — the speed advantage is real only in the coarser modes.
Both are. The machine needs 220 V three-phase at 70 A; cable sizing and residual-current protection are your responsibility before installation. Compressed air must be 6 bar at 250 L/min and dried — moisture in the line goes straight into the ink system.
Only if you run reels above one tonne. Beyond the price, it obliges you to have a crane or a scissor roll lifter in the shop and a floor rated for the load. If your media comes on standard reels, skip it.
Yes — the chassis is prepared for twenty heads and taking an 8-head machine to 12 is an on-site upgrade. Colour profiles have to be rebuilt from scratch afterwards; running the old ones gives back the speed you bought as colour inconsistency.
No. Sheet up to 30 mm passes through, but the machine carries it on a conveyor rather than holding it on a full vacuum bed. For bowed sheet, heavy material and ganged repeat work indexed off registration pins, the MF-3220 K12 is the right machine.
