The MH-1800 U4 is the entry point into hybrid printing: roll-to-roll media and rigid sheets up to 10 mm on one chassis. An Epson i3200-U1 array configurable from one to four heads delivers 45 m²/h in colour at four passes, dropping to 13 m²/h for colour-white-colour work — plan for that before you quote it. It runs from a single-phase 20 A supply, so most shops install it without pulling a three-phase panel. White circulates even while the machine idles.

01

MavenRail Hybrid Feed

The roll gear and the rigid infeed table share one carrier, so changing mode is a mechanical adjustment rather than a recalibration. Going from roll to sheet costs an operator ten minutes, not half a shift.

02

MavenFlow White Circulation

White ink circulates through the channel even when the machine is idle. Settled white pigment — and the head cleaning it causes — is the largest hidden cost in any shop running white.

03

AutoGap Height Sensor

Media height is measured automatically between 0 and 10 mm and the head gap is set from it. Lifted banner and bowed foam PVC are the number one cause of head damage on hybrid machines.

04

TensionLock Roll Tension

Unwind and rewind motors take feedback from the dancer arm, so tension holds steady as a 100 kg reel loses diameter. Edge waviness — and the head strikes that follow it — goes away.

We publish this before the sale. A machine that will not fit through the door, or a supply that cannot carry it, is the most expensive surprise there is.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the MH-1800 U4 right for, and what is it wrong for?

Right for shops whose daily work is mostly roll, with occasional foam PVC, foam board or thin acrylic up to 10 mm. Wrong if sheet work is more than half your volume or you print material thicker than 20 mm — look at the MF-1216 R4 or MF-2513 R8 instead.

Is 45 m²/h a real number?

It is real in the four-head configuration, at four passes, printing CMYK on vinyl. Budget roughly half of it on a two-head machine and a quarter on a single-head one. Colour-white-colour lays three ink layers and drops to 13 m²/h — that is the nature of C-W-C, not a fault of the machine.

Is three-phase power mandatory?

No. The machine runs on 220 V single phase at 20 A, which is the most concrete advantage it has in this class. We do ask for a dedicated line from the panel: shared with a compressor or a welder, the inrush when the curing lamps kick in will trip the breaker mid-print.

If it prints 10 mm sheet, why buy a flatbed at all?

Usually you still should. A hybrid holds sheet on an infeed table and print vacuum, not on a full vacuum bed. Bowed sheet, heavy material, ganging small parts across one bed and repeat jobs indexed off registration pins are flatbed work. Hybrid rigid capability is for "and occasionally a sheet".

How much white ink does it use?

With a fully opaque white underbase, total consumption approaches the top of the 8–25 ml/m² band. On clear film and backlit work white costs more per m² than colour, so quote it as a separate line item.
