QuadArray Head Layout
Four staggered Epson i3200-A1 heads produce the 180 m²/h paper speed at two passes. The chassis is prepared for up to eight heads; the upgrade is done on site and colour profiles must be rebuilt afterwards.

01 — OVERVIEW
The MT-1900 A4 is a 1.9 m roll-to-roll transfer sublimation system. Four Epson i3200-A1 heads deliver 180 m²/h of paper at two passes; in daily production three passes at 120 m²/h is the realistic figure. Tension-sensed take-up handles rolls up to 1000 m, and a two-stage hot-air dryer dries the paper before it winds. Fixation happens in the second half of the system, the MR-1900 calender: a 600 mm oil drum on 380 V three-phase at roughly 40 kW — the largest single electrical load in the shop.

Feed and take-up shafts hold web tension with a sensor bar. Sublimation paper expands as it takes ink, and lost tension puts waves in the web that transfer as creases at the calender. Tension stays constant to the end of a 1000 m roll.
Paper is dried in two stages, over the platen and at the exit. With single-stage drying, heavy-coverage jobs stick to themselves on the take-up; the second stage is what saves dense blues and blacks.
Printer and MR-1900 calender are commissioned together: paper width, drum diameter and line speed are matched in one table. A 1.9 m paper web transfers roughly 1.80 m of fabric — account for that difference at quotation stage.

03 — INSTALLATION
We publish this before the sale. A machine that will not fit through the door, or a supply that cannot carry it, is the most expensive surprise there is.
04 — QUESTIONS
Shops producing flags, tensioned banners, sportswear and soft signage at more than 300 m² of transfer a day. It works on fabrics of at least 80 % polyester; if your work is cotton, this is the wrong technology and you should be looking at DTF.
No. On its own the printer only prints transfer paper; the dye moves into fabric under heat and pressure. The MR-1900 calender is the second half of the system and is quoted with it. If you already own a calender of matching width, the printer can be supplied alone.
That is the two-pass paper figure at low coverage. Plan production around three passes and 120 m²/h. Real line capacity is set by the calender: a 600 mm drum transfers at 120–600 cm/h, and dwell time varies with the fabric.
The printer runs on single-phase 220 V at 10 A and causes no trouble. The calender does: 380 V three-phase at around 40 kW, above what most shops have on the existing panel. We check panel capacity, cable section and residual-current protection together during the pre-install survey.
Work between 18–30 °C and 35–65 % RH. Low humidity curls the paper and raises the risk of head strikes; high humidity stops the paper holding ink and colours come off the calender flat. Let paper acclimatise in its wrapping in the print room for at least 24 hours.
A 600 mm drum is noticeably faster than small drums at a 35-second dwell, and the gap widens over long runs. For jobs of around 35 m a smaller drum is enough; for continuous production 600 mm and above is the choice.
